Authorisation Request API
Overview
A message is sent from the Authorisation Request API, when Enfuce is awaiting a decision from the issuer to approve or decline an authorisation request for a payment, balance enquiry, or PIN related request. To actively participate in the decision making process, the issuer must respond in real-time.
The issuer must check whether the ledger has sufficient balance to cover the transaction amount for inital and incremental authorisations or any fees applicable for balance enquiry and PIN related services. If the request is approved, the issuer must reserve the amount as an authorisation hold. The amount is reserved in the cardholder’s account balance, until the transaction is cleared, reversed, or has expired.
